Majority of UK tech workers prepared to leave the UK, study finds

75% of UK tech workers are said to be willing to leave the UK to work abroad according to a recent study conducted by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Totaljobs. In contrast, just 61% of non-tech workers would choose to work abroad. With the ongoing uncertainty that surrounds Brexit and a shortage of digital skills worldwide, it’s unsurprising to learn that many are considering other offers.

London as it stands is ranked as the world’s best city for tech and the UK as a whole is ranked fifth. To maintain this status, the UK needs to seriously consider ways to attract and maintain the best digital talent. The UK government must return its focus back to building our digital skills pipeline and do this by urgently resolving issues such as Brexit and the future immigration policy.
