London’s Tech Week commences today and runs until 14th June for its sixth year running. It promises a week full of events that focus on tech and innovation in the world’s technology capital, London. With 55,000 visitors expected to attend, it’s an industry-known event not to be missed.
This year focuses on the shortage of digital skills across the globe in the tech industry. The talent gap is impacting companies in delivering digital strategy and maintaining market leadership and London Tech Week will be focusing on the talent gap.
We’ve compiled a list of the must-see events taking place across the week.
Opening Dinner, Monday 10th June
London Tech Week kicks-off with a charity dinner in support of Founders4Schools. An evening of dinner, drinks and entertainment followed by the opportunity to network with London Tech Week ambassadors, tech leaders, futurists and innovators. Signal your role and commitment to wanting to change the tech industry by attending this event which will focus on the talent gap.
CogX, Monday 10th-Wednesday 12th June
With a focus on AI and emerging technologies, CogX will have 500 speakers across the 3 day festival. The speakers include the Mayor or London, Sadiq Khan, international Government Secretaries of State, Ministers and business leaders from the likes of HSBC, Google and Unilever. The event will see the brightest of minds come together to discuss key business and societal opportunities as well as the challenges that face the deployment of new technology.
Health Tech innovator conference, Tuesday 11th June
Focusing on digital health, this conference provides health start-ups and scale-ups the opportunity to pitch and demo their innovations, and there is also a panel discussion. The panel includes speakers from leading healthcare organisations and will discuss ways in which collaboration will lead to wins in digital health and innovation.
Sooner Than You Think, Tuesday 11th-Wednesday 12th June
With an emphasis on the future of business and innovation, market focuses and technological breakthroughs this event considers how the way in which companies do business will be transformed by digital advances. Experts from leading organisations will join together to produce compelling, news-making conversations.
The Digital High Street – Opportunities and Challenges, Thursday 13th June
Join the conversation on the digital future of the high street with an expert panel and Q&A session. This event brings together experts from property and tech organisations and will reflect on a brief history of the UK high street. It will also introduce a framework for thinking about high street futures from global to local. The panel will discuss the opportunities and challenges for integrated communities of the future and a diverse audience will see those from PropTech companies, local authorities, business improvement districts and the place-making community come together.
Latin American Tech Day, Thursday 13th June
This event will provide better understanding on the Latin American innovator scene. The agenda will take you through the possible impacts Brexit will have on the innovation scene, major challenges Latin American companies may face that are considering expanding to the UK and what the UK is doing to repair the ecosystem and who will pay for it. There will also be a pitch of Latin American scale-ups to the audience and a panel of British judges, where a winner will be announced.
The London-Asia Tech Ecosystem, Friday 14th June
This event is targeted at businesses, whether large or start-up, interested in accessing Asia for market, money and manufacturing. The event will be focused on tech businesses especially in loT and industry 4.0, and will provide the opportunity to network and meet the true insiders of the tech ecosystems of Asia who are already based here in the UK. Speakers include entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders and government representatives that will discuss how to navigate the changing Asian tech landscape and influence resources in the East for your success in the West.
